How To Ease Back-to-School Anxiety

This post is brought to you by Manzano Day School. We at ABQ Mom choose to work with businesses that bring value to our readers.

Heading back to school can bring up lots of emotions, particularly some jitters when it comes to the unknown. It’s normal for everyone involved to be a little nervous.

In the following video, we got the opportunity to discuss back-to-school anxiety with Jodie Hart, LCSW, the school counselor at Manzano Day School.

She provides some wonderful advice and techniques for both kids and parents. We talk about how parents can help soothe first-day jitters in their school-age kids. Strategies kids can do on their own to cope with their anxiety. When parents should get their kids extra help in dealing with anxiety. And even provides some advice for parents dealing with their own jitters. (Ahem, guilty!)

Take a look and let us know. How do you help your kids with those back-to-school nerves?
