Jurassic Journeys: Top Spots for your Dinosaur-Loving Kiddo

Much like trains, dinosaurs are a hot topic among toddlers and young children alike. I mistakenly called a pterodactyl a flying dinosaur, a rookie parenting mistake, and was swiftly corrected by my two-year-old. How does he know this? I have no idea!

Millions of years ago, Albuquerque and the surrounding area were home to many dinosaurs, including the recently discovered Tyrannosaurus Mcraeensis. Albuquerque has lots of cool places to explore the past and get a taste of prehistoric life.

Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science

This is THE spot affectionally known as the dino museum in our house. There are so many incredible exhibits, including the Bisti Beast animatronic display, bones, and fossils!

Large Red Dinosaur

Don’t forget to wave at the large red dinosaur next time you’re driving on Coors and Paseo del Norte!

Petroglyph National Monument

While not dinosaur-related, I consider it dinosaur-adjacent, as this park features ancient rock carvings that are very, very old.
