Speech Therapy for Kids in the Albuquerque Area

Two of my three kids have done speech therapy, and both experiences were so different.

Cats and dogs are my 3-year-old’s favorite things in the world, yet she struggled with the initial “C” and “D” sounds. After a few months of speech therapy, her enunciation improved significantly, and she can now clearly say her favorite words.

Our speech journey with my oldest child was much longer. He was diagnosed with bilateral hearing loss when he was three years old and wears hearing aids. His hearing difference meant some sounds, especially quiet sounds like “th,” were hard for him to hear and, thus, say.

Even at three, he was a brilliant kid with an outstanding vocabulary, yet his disability meant he couldn’t clearly express his needs, ideas, and intelligence. Three years of intense speech therapy helped bridge the gap, and now people often remark on what an articulate kid he is.

If you’re looking for speech therapy for your child, reach out to your pediatrician for an evaluation and referral. Then, give these Albuquerque speech therapists a call.
