Help Us Create a Home for Human Trafficking Survivors

0

Hey mamas, we have some exciting news for you! ABQ Mom has teamed up with New Mexico Dream Center to adopt a room for the Eliza Jane Project. The New Mexico Dream Center holistically addresses the issue of human trafficking in New Mexico through prevention, outreach to victims, services to survivors, and support systems for their clients.

The Eliza Jane Project is an 8-bedroom rental facility to house trafficking survivors as they transition into their next season of life. It’s the first 24/7 fully-staffed residential housing option for trafficking survivors in New Mexico.

Not only are we adopting a room, but this room will specifically be for a mom and her kids. The project is the first of its kind in New Mexico, and it is our privilege to help support women and children in this capacity.

Come Dream with Us: Support the Eliza Jane Project

Imagine a place where you feel calm, relaxed, and safe. We want to create this type of space for the women and children who will call this room home. A cozy, studio-like apartment that is all their own. Our design inspiration for the space comes from a beautiful donated rug. Think boho meets modern with warm turquoise tones and yellow and rust accent colors. Our dream is that any mama and her child(ren) who walk into these four walls will immediately feel at home and relaxed. This will be a space where she can focus on healing and her kids can be just that–kids.

Eliza Jane ProjectBut we can’t do it alone. Here’s where you come in, dear mamas.

We need to furnish and set up this room in just two weeks! There’s an Amazon Wish List for our room, and we would love for you to join us by purchasing items from this list by August 20th. We need everything from bedding, dishes, towels, and lamps to set up this cozy space. We also need a gently-used dresser and a side table. If you have any of these items, you can reach out to us via email and send us a photo of the item. Thank you in advance for making an impact in the lives of women and their children!
