Occupational Therapy for Kids in the Albuquerque Area

My mom (a pediatric nurse practitioner) describes occupational therapy as tricking kids into doing work through play.

Pediatric occupational therapists are truly magical human beings who can help children with almost any practical problems in their daily lives.

If a patient struggles with handwriting, an OT can work on fine motor skills with them. For a patient with limited physical mobility, an OT could help the patient learn how to bathe and dress themselves. For a child with a sensory disorder, an OT can help them learn self-regulation skills. The possibilities are endless!

My oldest child did OT for six months as a preschooler to help with self-regulation, proprioception, and fine motor skills. He loved OT because he got to bound around the therapy gym, swinging on swings, balancing on stepping stones, and coloring. Of all the therapies he did (and we did lots!), OT was definitely the most fun!

If your child could benefit from OT, give these Albuquerque occupational therapists a call.
