In the realm of modern-day superheroes, I think of the working mom, donning multiple hats seamlessly and effortlessly. From nurturing a family to pursuing personal goals, her days are an intricate dance of commitments and aspirations. My journey as a full-time mom, a committed employee, and a determined student has been a testament to the many hats I wear daily.
The past two years have been a whirlwind. A blend of challenges, accomplishments, sacrifices, and moments of sheer pride. I embarked on a mission to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. This involved an academic load of full-time online schooling along with navigating my first job in the accounting department.
The balancing act was not for the faint of heart. Days turned into nights as I traded sleep for study hours, completed assignments, and engaged in collaborative group projects. Weekends that were once spent on leisurely shopping and outings were now spent at home studying. But this was a conscious decision to prioritize education over momentary distractions.
Saying “no” to family events, though difficult, became a necessary choice to stay committed to my educational pursuits. However, amidst the challenges, I found an unwavering pillar of support in my husband and son. Their unyielding encouragement, whether through sharing household chores or understanding my need for uninterrupted study time, sustained me through the toughest of days.
But perhaps what fueled my perseverance the most was the mantra echoing in my mind: “This is temporary.”
I reminded myself that the sacrifices and efforts were stepping stones towards a brighter future. And this served as a guiding light during moments of fatigue or doubt.

Reflecting on the past intense years working on my degree, I embrace a sense of accomplishment. Ending my undergraduate program on the Dean’s list with a 3.7 GPA is the affirmation of the dedication and perseverance poured into each study session. The pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting has been reached.
As I look towards the future, I carry with me the art of time management, the power of resilience, and the appreciation of the unwavering support of loved ones. These invaluable experiences have shaped not just my academic journey but also my growth as a person, instilling in me a belief that with determination and support, any mountain is conquerable.
I celebrate not just the academic milestones, but the bonds strengthened, the resilience tested, and the unwavering determination to carve a brighter future for myself and my family. Here’s to the relentless spirit of the working mom and the pursuit of dreams against all odds.
I want to extend a message to all the remarkable moms out there who may feel the weight of similar aspirations to pursue work and education simultaneously.
