How to Make Honey Lavender Soap

Summer time around our home in the South Valley means regular visits to the local farmer’s markets, growing flowers, and making homemade spa recipes . . . including the honey lavender soap recipe below.

Here’s a great summer soap project we do every year in our home, and it’s so easy that you can do it with your kids. It makes a great gift, and it’s wonderfully fragrant and moisturizing.

What you need for honey lavender soap:

32 oz of Goat’s Milk Melt and Pour Soap Base (Amazon or Hobby Lobby)

2-3 Tablespoons of dried lavender (Local Farmer’s Market)

2-3 Tablespoons of honey (Local Honey)

15 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil (Personal Preference)

Double Boiler

Silicone Mold

Step 1:

Cut your soap into small pieces so that it melts quickly. I highly recommend a double boiler rather than the microwave so that you can keep an eye on the soap to ensure it doesn’t burn.

Step 2:

While soap melts, measure out your honey and lavender buds to have ready.

Step 3:

Once the soap is completely melted, add the 15 drops of lavender essential oil BEFORE adding honey and buds. Stir.

Step 4:

Add honey and lavender buds. Stir.

Step 5:

Pour mixture into your silicone soap molds and let sit for 3-4 hours. Once solid, pop out of silicone mold.

Wrap and package however you choose! I like using strips of burlap with actual lavender flowers tied neatly to the front of the bar.
