Guide to Food Assistance Resources in Albuquerque

Groceries are expensive right now, and with the added strain of the government shutdown, many local families are feeling the pinch. If that’s you, please know you’re not alone, and there’s help available. Everyone needs a little support now and then.

That’s why we’ve compiled this guide to food assistance in Albuquerque and the surrounding area, so you can find nearby resources offering groceries and other essentials for you and your family.

Below is a list of some programs and local resources available.

A few helpful tips:

  • Call ahead and double-check organizations’ websites: Distribution days/times can change, supplies may be limited, and you’ll want to verify eligibility (ID, proof of residence, household size).

  • Bring bags or boxes: Not all pantries provide packing materials.

  • Check children-friendly food: If you have young kids, ask if they offer foods suitable for them (dairy, baby food, allergy-friendly items).
