There are many organizations and resources that can help diagnose and support your child from an early age. Early intervention can change your child’s developmental path and can improve outcomes.
Early intervention includes supports and therapies for infants and young children who have developmental delays, disabilities, or conditions that may affect development, and services are often provided at home.
Here are some resources to help you find early intervention services in the Albuquerque area.

ABA Pathways
The multidisciplinary team at ABA Pathways is committed to helping your family find the optimal treatment program to meet each individual’s need whether that be for autism, communication delays, or developmental disabilities. Read more here about the importance of early intervention.
Abrazos Family Support Services
Family Infant Toddler Early Intervention Services are provided at no cost to families. Early Intervention is a program for families of children from birth to age 3 who are experiencing a delay in development, have been diagnosed with a disability, or who may have a condition that could cause a significant delay in their development.
Alta Mira Specialized Family Services
Alta Mira Specialized Family Services Inc.’s Early Intervention services supports families with children experiencing a delay in their development, diagnosed with a disability, or experiencing conditions that could cause a significant delay in their development. Intending to ensure a child reaches their full potential, families receive support and assistance.
Bilingual Multicultural Services
Bilingual Multicultural Services develops and implements therapeutic/educational programs while being sensitive to cultural beliefs. They assist individuals with different abilities to achieve their full potential.
Elevate Early Intervention
Elevate Early Intervention is New Mexico’s local resource for early developmental support. They provide in-home services for infants and toddlers in Bernalillo, Socorro, and Valencia counties.
EPICS
EPICS is a Community Parent Resource Center serving New Mexico families who have Native American children with disabilities or developmental delays.
FIT Families
If you or your child’s doctor, childcare, or other provider are concerned about your child’s development, you can make a referral to the Family Infant Toddler (FIT) Program. If you contact the local FIT Provider agency in your county, they will set up a time to meet with you and then complete a developmental evaluation for your child.
Inspirations
At Inspirations, early intervention services are provided to children from birth to 3 years old with or at risk for having developmental delays or disabilities. Inspirations provides transdisciplinary services in the home or community to address children’s individual needs. Services are provided at no cost to families.
La Vida Felicidad
The goal of this Early Childhood program is to help parents or caregivers give their young children the support and stimulation they need.
Native American Pueblo Parents Resources
Native American Professional Parent Resources Inc. provides early intervention services to Native American families with young children experiencing developmental delays.
New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired
NMSBVI provides statewide services to families of children ages birth to 3 who have a diagnosed visual impairment or who are considered to be at risk for receiving a VI diagnosis. Services are delivered in the family home or in another community environment that supports the child and his/her family.
New Mexico School for the Deaf
NMSD offers statewide weekly, home-based or virtual visits, for children who are deaf or hard of hearing ages birth to 6 years old. Early intervention is provided at no cost to families. It aims to provides spoken language and sign language to increase your communication skills with your deaf and hard of hearing child, allow access to early literacy training and support, encourage connection and social networking with other families, and ease access to community supports.
New Vistas
New Vistas is here to provide guidance and support. They help individuals, families, and friends understand and cope with disabilities. They also help increase well-being, self-reliance, and independence.
PB&J Family Services
CBPIR is a community-based program that serves families with children 0-18 years old. This organization provides services in home and focuses on parent education and case management. PB&J Family Services currently serves Bernalillo, Sandoval, and Valencia counties.
Presbyterian Ear Institute
PEI’s FIT program supports families of deaf or hard of hearing children ages 0-18 months by providing speech, language and auditory therapy to help infants begin to use their voices to communicate; information and resources about their infant’s hearing loss and its impacts on listening, speech, language and literacy development; and parent education and coaching in a warm, supportive setting so that parents can practice listening and language strategies.
Prism Autism Services
Early intervention services are provided to children 18 months to age 3 with developmental delays and their families. Services include Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Language Therapy, and Occupational Therapy.
UNM CDD Focus Program
The FOCUS Early Intervention Program provides supports and services for families of children aged birth through 3 years of age. They help children who have developmental delays or are at risk of experiencing delays due to family substance use, family violence, low birth weight, parental mental illness, prematurity, prenatal exposure to drugs and alcohol, and unsupported teen parenting.
Aprendamos Family of Services
Serving Southern New Mexico, Aprendamos Early Intervention provides early intervention services for children and their families who are affected by a developmental delay or disability. Early intervention helps children acquire the skills necessary to grow, learn, and develop to their greatest potential.
