When my family moved to Albuquerque in 2024 after two years in the Midwest, we were thrilled to once again be able to devour tasty breakfast burritos regularly!
We were quick to get our fix, driving through the Stripes drive-thru within 24 hours of moving in. And now our kids are hooked on the morning deliciousness that is eggs, meat, and potatoes wrapped up in a warm tortilla.
To be sure I’ve tried all of the mouthwatering burritos in town, I asked ABQ Mom contributors their favorites. These four favorites were top on their list!
New Mexico Beef Jerky Company
1425 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102
Multiple ABQ Moms recommended NM Beef Jerky Company near Downtown, and, after my first bite, I quickly understood why. My giant burrito was packed with eggs, potatoes, and crispy bacon, and the chile was my favorite of all the burritos in town. It was large enough to save half for lunch! No drive-thru here, so be prepared to wait a bit, though you can place an order ahead and pick it up inside.
Contributor Favorite: “Our fave burritos are definitely from NM Beef Jerky Company. They’re absolutely delicious and huge! Definitely shareable. The spot is always super busy so be prepared, but well worth the wait and hassle.” – Denika

Burritos Alinstante
Multiple locations in the Albuquerque area
Burritos Alinstante’s perfectly hand-held burrito was full of the fluffiest eggs, potatoes, eggs and yummy chile. It tasted like a burrito an abuela would make: cozy, warm, fresh and delicious. With multiple locations around town, it’s easy to get your fix. The drive-thru at the Broadway location was super quick, and a perfect stop before visiting the zoo!

Stripes Burrito Co.
Multiple locations around town
Stripes was our first breakfast burrito stop when we moved back to New Mexico, and it never disappoints! The drive-thru is quick, and the burritos are always scrumptious. Plus, they contribute to the local Veterans Affairs Hospital, so every bite supports local veterans!
Contributor Favorite: “If you are looking for comfort food, Stripes is your place! Plus, they donate a portion of proceeds to the VA hospital and serve local coffee.” -Paige
Blake’s Lotabuger
Multiple locations around New Mexico
Blake’s is a New Mexico staple, and it’s easy to see why. They’re consistently delicious, and they’re my kids’ favorite breakfast burritos. Many locations have a drive-thru—mom win!
Contributor Favorite: “Blake’s #1 with green is LIFE. Yes and amen. I love the crispy bacon, spicy chile, real cracked eggs (not powder mix), and soft tortillas. Oh yeah, and my Blake’s has a drive-thru!” -Vanessa
