Because sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate or you just need a change from the trails and sunshine, here are our favorite indoor adventures for families in Santa Fe.

indoor activities and play in Santa Fe | Meow Wolf

Doodlet’s

📍120 Don Gaspar Ave. (just off the Plaza)

Step into Santa Fe’s most whimsical toy store! Doodlet’s has been delighting kids and parents for decades with its mix of toys, games, books, and quirky treasures you won’t find anywhere else. From cuddly stuffed animals to locally inspired crafts, it’s the kind of place where kids’ imaginations light up the moment they walk in the door.

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: If you go inside, be prepared to buy something. It’s nearly impossible to leave empty-handed! This is a great stop after exploring the Plaza, especially if you need a small reward, birthday gift, or souvenir.

Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC)

📍3221 Rodeo Rd.

This community rec center has something for everyone: basketball courts, an indoor pool with slides and a lazy river, and an ice rink (currently under renovation). Affordable entry fees make it a solid choice for families.

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: Don’t forget towels and snacks for a fun day at the pool, of course!

🚼 The leisure pool has a sloped entry, which makes it great for toddlers.

LiggettVille Indoor Amusement Park

📍4250 Cerrillos Rd.

Located right inside the mall, this amusement park features New Mexico’s largest indoor ropes course. Kids (and brave parents) can climb, balance, and zip their way across obstacles. Younger children will love the mini ropes course designed just for them.

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: A great option if you want to combine mall shopping with active play.

Meow Wolf

📍1352 Rufina Cir.

Step into an immersive art world where imagination runs wild. Meow Wolf’s House of Eternal Return is part art exhibit, part mystery, and part playground for your senses. Kids will love crawling through portals and exploring hidden passages, while parents can appreciate the creativity of over 100 local artists.

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: Make sure to take advantage of NM resident discounts. And don’t miss the art room at the end, where kids can create their own masterpieces.

Rockin’ Rollers

📍2915 Agua Fria St.

Lace up some skates and roll the day away! Rockin’ Rollers is a family-friendly roller rink with public skates, camps, parties, and even kids’ karaoke nights. With music, lights, and a DJ, this is a spot that keeps the energy high.

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: Keep an eye on their calendar for themed nights. They’re a blast!

Santa Fe Art Classes (Private Painting Classes)

📍1 block from the Plaza, La Fonda, and Loretto (exact address provided upon booking)

Channel your family’s inner artist with a 2-hour private painting class. The instructors keep it fun and approachable, even if you don’t consider yourself “artsy.” Everyone goes home with their own masterpiece.

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: This is perfect for tweens and teens who want a more grown-up activity.

Santa Fe Children’s Museum

📍1050 Old Pecos Tr.

✨ This is a classic stop for families! ✨ The Santa Fe Children’s Museum is full of hands-on exhibits that encourage learning through play. Kids can build, create, explore, and let their curiosity lead the way. It’s a wonderful balance of fun and education.

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: Check their website for up-to-date hours and admission. It’s a popular spot on weekends and holidays, so try to go earlier in the day.

🚼 Toddlers and crawlers should make use of the museum’s Baby Zone for developmentally appropriate toys in a safe environment without the worry of older kids being too wild.

Santa Fe Climbing Center

📍3008 Cielo Ct.

For kids who love adventure, the Santa Fe Climbing Center offers brightly colored climbing walls that will challenge and entertain. They provide day passes, rentals, and instruction for beginners.

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: Call ahead if you need rental gear. Sizes for little climbers can be limited.

Santa Fe School of Cooking

📍125 North Guadalupe St.

For families with older kids who love to get creative in the kitchen, the Santa Fe School of Cooking is a memorable experience. They offer hands-on classes where participants can learn about New Mexican cuisine, from red and green chile sauces to tamales, and more. Cooking together is a fun way to bond, and everyone leaves with new skills (and full bellies!).

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: This one is best suited for older tweens and teens. Younger children may not have the patience for a three-hour class that is geared toward adults.

Skate School

📍1219 Camino Carlos Rey

Got a skater in the family? Check out this no-frills indoor skate facility focused on fundamentals, fun, and safety. They offer lessons and open skate times.

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: Once your skater has the basics down, check out the outdoor skate park downtown at DeVargas.

Sky Railway

📍Departs from The Santa Fe Depot | 430 West Manhattan Ave.

All aboard! The Sky Railway is a family-friendly train adventure dreamed up by George R.R. Martin and local creatives. Trains depart from downtown Santa Fe and take riders on themed journeys through the high desert, complete with live entertainment, snacks, and incredible views. With both indoor and outdoor seating, families can choose to stay cozy inside or enjoy the open-air cars. Kids will love the excitement of the ride, and parents will appreciate the unique Santa Fe twist on this classic experience.

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: Not all rides are designed with kids in mind. Check the schedule for family-friendly options before booking.

The Alley Lanes

📍153 Paseo de Peralta

The Alley is more than just bowling. Families can enjoy billiards, darts, bocce, shuffleboard, and arcade games, all paired with good food. It’s easy to spend half a day here.

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: Look for daily specials on their website. These deals make this outing even more affordable.

Tiny Twisters Tumbling

📍3204 Mercantile Ct.

Little one need to get the wiggles out? Check out Tiny Twisters Tumbling. Their Open Gym is offered on Mondays and Fridays from 10:00–11:00 am (except holidays). Parents are required to stay, but kids are given free range to climb, bounce, tumble, and run. It’s a safe, fun way for crawlers through age five to burn energy and build confidence.

🌟 ABQ Mom Tip: Space is capped at 12 kids, so sign up in advance.

🚼 This activity is reserved for children 5 and under.
