It’s December, which means that we have a million and a half things going on. School, activities, work, shopping, holiday parties, baking, dress up days, school functions, more parties, more work, more school, more shopping, all the things. It’s all good and fun until you realize you also have to make holiday magic and have your family over . . . and you want a clean home. Your kids may not care about the cleanliness of your home, but your mother-in-law sure will.
For moms, the holidays really are the most wonderful time of the year, but it’s also the most stressful time of the year.
I have two little boys at home. They are one and four years old. I also work full-time plus a part-time job. My husband works full-time. Our home is often the hangout spot for our family, so there is lots of entertaining going on, especially around the holidays. With the tiny bit of free time we have, the last thing we want is to clean our home. However, it is important to us that our home is clean. It’s a vicious cycle.
Home Clean Heroes recently came over to clean my home, and for me, there is no turning back.
I have never been one to ask for help or admit to any weaknesses (although I have plenty). I am a very stereotypical oldest daughter and people pleaser. I want to be able to do everything for everyone, and I really struggle when I am not able to do so. Asking for help makes me anxious, and it honestly makes me feel like a failure. For my own mental well-being, I need to get better at this. (Ahem, New Year’s resolution.)
I was a bit nervous about what to expect or that I would be thought of as a bad mom and a bad wife because I had someone else cleaning my home. My husband was nervous about a football game. My kids were nervous that their toys were going to be messed up and that the vacuum would be loud. I am happy to report that all of our anxieties were unfounded. I am not a bad mom because I need help, my kids’ toys are fine and cleaner than ever, and the vacuum was not too loud. As for my husband, I can’t remember the outcome of the game, but he survived.
My home is clean, and I was able to spend good time with my boys, instead of spending the day scrubbing my sinks.
I scheduled the clean and was notified when the cleaners were on their way. Their first visit is an estimate. They arrived and did a walk-through of my home, giving me a cost estimate and an idea of what cleaning would be done. They were also able to ask any questions at this time, as was I. And I had a lot, because I had no idea what to expect.
When they came to clean my house, my family and I went outside to decorate our yard for Christmas, and Home Clean Heroes got to work. I was so thankful to be spending the time with my boys, and get our home holiday ready.
We got a basic clean, but you can add in extras, like window cleaning. Their basic cleaning includes:
- Bathrooms
- Tile walls, tubs, showers
- Vanity and sinks
- Mirrors and fixtures (I almost never clean my fixtures)
- Floors
- Toilets cleaned and sanitized
- Super dusting
- Kitchen and Eating Areas
- Countertops cleaned and sanitized (and HOLY COW they do a great job)
- Appliances polished
- Sinks cleaned
- Floors vacuumed and damp mopped
- Microwave clean (yep, even the inside)
- Super dusting
- Bedrooms and Living Areas
- Flat surfaces wiped
- Picture frames dusted (I honestly forgot that those need some love too)
- Ceiling fans dusted
- Lamp shades dusted (Did not realize how bad mine were)
- Wood floors cleaned and damp mopped
- Accessible floors and stairs vacuumed
- Upholstery dusted and vacuumed
I went in with some expectations, but Home Clean Heroes far exceeded those.
When we moved into our home, we knew we were inheriting a bit of a mess. While we have made some progress, our cabinets and countertops in the kitchen are especially bad. (If you move into a house after a DIYer, make sure they know how to use acrylic properly. Learn from my mistakes.)
I was completely blown away by the cleaning that was done. The gross cabinets look brand new, and the bad acrylic actually looks good. My four year old even complained that they were able to clean his drawings off of our cabinets and furniture. A complaint from him, but my husband and I are singing their praises.
Home Clean Heroes has a repeat customer in me. And they are truly my heroes. They took so much stress out of the holiday season for me and my family.
To top this all off, Home Clean Heroes also gives back to the community. Home Clean Heroes puts Heroes first and recognizes first responders in our community. Through donations that can be added at the end of your cleaning, they are able to donate to the First Responders Children’s Foundation. They assist in financial assistance grants, first responder funeral costs, college scholarships, mental health programs, and so much more.
Additionally, Home Clean Heroes also collects canned goods and other nonperishable items on behalf of local food banks in the area. In the past five years alone, they have provided over 1,000 meals to those who truly need it. These are collected at the time of cleaning, making it even easier for you to give back this holiday season.
The mission of Home Clean Heroes is to defend your free time, so you can spend it on the things that matter most to you. Right now, I know we mamas need as much time back as we can get. Join me in giving them a call so that you can spend the holiday season doing what really matters.
