McDonald’s Magic on the Busiest of Days

This article is sponsored by McDonald's & Coca-Cola. At ABQ Mom, we work with businesses that bring value to our readers.

It’s that magical time of year when our calendars are packed, the kids are singing Christmas carols in the back seat, and somewhere between errands, we realize . . . dinner still needs to happen.

While I love seeing my kids in every play, production, recital, and end-of-the-year celebration, my calendar is jam-packed. Here’s a sampling of things my family has going on this month.

  • Dance recital
  • Guitar performance
  • Voice recital
  • 2 volunteer events at church
  • Musical theatre performance
  • End-of-season soccer banquet
  • Art show
  • Class holiday parties
  • Holiday parties for my work and my husband’s work

I’m sure you can relate. And you know someone’s going to throw in a dress-up day or two. Because what’s one more thing on your plate?

Sometimes, what we really need this time of year is a break and a little simplicity. McDonald’s can help us focus on the joy of the season instead of stressing over another meal plan.

McDonald'sWhen gifts, decorations, events, and celebrations stack up, it’s nice to have a go-to meal that doesn’t stretch the holiday budget.

There’s something about making my little ones smile with a Happy Meal and enjoying an ice-cold Diet Coke with a Quarter Pounder with Cheese that helps me relish even the busiest of days.

Some of my favorite memories are the simple ones. When I was a little girl, my grandpop used to surprise me with a trip to the “Golden Arches” as he used to call McDonald’s. Now, it would feel nostalgic and comforting to grab a festive McDonald’s Coca-Cola and Chicken McNuggets as we drive through neighborhoods to see Christmas lights and luminarias.

McDonald'sI also love the idea that McDonald’s are local franchises run by small business owners right here in New Mexico. McDonald’s takes pride in how they source their food–with quality ingredients coming from farms, fields, orchards, and bakeries.

The holidays aren’t about spending hours in the kitchen or trying to do it all—they’re about being together. And sometimes, sharing our favorite McDonald’s meals and ice-cold Cokes on the busiest days brings all the joy and magic we need.
