Jurassic Fridays at South Broadway Library
Visit us at the South Broadway Library Friday afternoons to watch specially themed movies each month. , Friday movies in May ready us for the upcoming summer reading program theme with a movie to unearth a story. Come join the fun!
May 1: Jurassic Park (PG-13). Genetically engineered dinosaurs run amok on a remote island. It’s up to a paleontologist, a paleobotanist and a mathematician to outmaneuver the deadly beasts and find their way back to civilization. Based on Michael Crichton’s best seller. The film won three Oscars, including Best Visual Effects. Runtime: 127 minutes.
May 8: The Lost World: Jurassic Park II (PG-13). John Hammond invites Ian Malcolm to visit a second island where dinosaurs are still thriving. When Ian learns that his paleontologist girlfriend is already there, he agrees to go. Meanwhile, an ecological activist and a game hunter enter the fray. Runtime: 128 minutes.
May 15: Jurassic Park III (PG-13). A couple lure paleontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill) to a dino-infested island and ask him to find their missing son. William H. Macy, Tea Leoni. Creaky plot, dazzling special effects. Joe Johnston directed. Runtime: 92 minutes.
May 22: Jurassic World (PG-13). Two young brothers visit an aunt who’s an executive at Jurassic World, a theme park populated with genetically resurrected dinosaurs. But chaos erupts when a newly created dino escapes its enclosure, forcing the park’s animal behaviorist to save the day. Runtime: 124 minutes.
May 29: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (PG-13). When a volcano on Isla Nublar threatens to endanger the dinosaurs, Claire recruits Owen to rescue the animals from total extinction. However, upon their arrival, they soon discover a sinister operation is afoot that exploits the animals. Runtime: 180 minutes.
