Free “La Pasión de Mariachi” at the NHCC
The National Hispanic Culture Center is very pleased to welcome the Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque back to NHCC campus with “La Pasión de Mariachi.” “La Pasión de Mariachi” is the signature educational presentation series, designed to provide students, educators, and community members with a deeper understanding of mariachi history, culture, and artistic influence. The series explores the traditions, evolution, and lasting impact of mariachi music through engaging presentations and discussion led by respected voices within the mariachi community.

The 2026 presentation, “La Pasión Hecha Canto: Lola Beltrán y el Alma de la Canción Ranchera,” will be presented by Robert Lucero and will examine the life, legacy, and cultural influence of legendary ranchera vocalist Lola Beltrán and her enduring impact on mariachi music and the canción ranchera tradition.
