Banana Smoothie Popsicles are sweet, cool and creamy…and they’re all natural (organic), easily home made, and contain no added sugar. Enjoy!
Albuquerque has turned up the heat and we’re heading into summer! The pools are packed, air conditioners are on full blast, and we’re all looking for ways to cool off. Kids love to beat the heat with popsicles, and moms love healthy snacks. Many of the popsicles available at the store contain preservatives, added sugar or other unsavory ingredients. These Banana Smoothie Popsicles are made in your kitchen, so you can choose to use all natural, organic fixings, and they’re simple enough for even the littlest of helpers to create.
What you need:
1 banana – cut in half and frozen over night
1/4 cup heavy cream
1 cup 2% milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 standard-sized popsicle molds
Blender
How To:
Start with one large frozen banana
Add the banana to the blender with 1/4 cup of heavy cream.
Add 1 cup of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla
Blend until the banana is smooth. Pour immediately into popsicle molds.
Freeze for 5 or 6 hours, and enjoy your banana smoothie popsicles!
There you have it – a simple, all natural way to be nourished and cool off this summer.
Lactose intolerant? Have no fear! You can substitute the dairy products for non-dairy milk and creamer.
Want more banana smoothie popsicles? Simply double the ingredients for every four popsicle molds.
For an added treat, toss some whole blueberries or sliced strawberries into the popsicle molds. The sky is the limit!
