Call for Submissions {Winter 2025} :: We Want to Hear from You!

ABQ Mom is holding an open call for submissions for website articles. Do you have something to say?

Call for Submissions :: We Want to Hear from You!

At ABQ Mom we seek to reflect all the beautiful diversity of our city. Maybe there’s a topic, a story, a group of people, a holiday, or an observance that you don’t often see represented in the media or on our website. If so, we invite you to write about it!

We are open to all submissions, but here are some topics we’d love to share about over the Winter:

  • Winter holidays, especially those that aren’t already represented on our site (Las Posadas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Boxing Day, and others)
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • World Braille Day
  • Veterans Day
  • Black History Month
  • American Heart Month

If you’re feeling hesitant to get started, let me answer a few common questions:

Do I have to be an experienced writer?

No! Many of our writers are not professionals. We really want to hear from people with personal, lived experiences about diverse topics. Your story is more important than being a perfect writer. We also have an editor who will work with you to polish your piece before publication.

What do I get out of it?

We are happy to link your personal social media handles and/or business websites. Also, you’ll have the opportunity to share something you are passionate about with our readers!

Are there any guidelines or tips to help me get started?
  • Shoot for 600-1,000 words in length.
  • Our website is professional but also friendly. Feel free to write with a conversational tone. It doesn’t have to sound like an informational essay for school.
  • If you have images you’d like to use, please include them! Horizontal images work best.
  • Remember, anyone can Google information about any topic. We are particularly interested in your unique story as a human being.

Once submitted, you’ll hear from us within two weeks if we are able to use your article. If you don’t hear from us in two weeks, feel free to submit your article to other publications or use on your own platforms as it will not be published on ABQ Mom.

What’s your passion? What’s your story? We hope you’ll share your voice with our wonderful community of Albuquerque moms.

      Paige Pacini
Paige is a stay-at-home mom to three hilarious, energetic boys. In her pre-kid life, Paige worked as a licensed mental health counselor, but she shelved her empathetic listening and insightful questions to change diapers, race cars on the kitchen floor, and mediate toddler wrestling matches. While Paige loves to be there for (almost) every moment with her children, she also loves to get away and connect with other moms for dinner or a walk in the beautiful Albuquerque sun. Paige is married to her high-school sweetheart, Ben, and they work together to raise their three sons with lots of laughter and lots of love.
