Nominate a Nonprofit for the 2025 ABQ Mom Nonprofit Spotlight

ABQ Mom is proud to give back to our community by spotlighting and supporting a local nonprofit organization each year. Your nominations help connect us with an amazing nonprofit that uplifts moms, children, and families in our community.

How to Nominate

Nomination is simple! Just fill out the form below to nominate a local nonprofit that you would like to see in the ABQ Mom spotlight in 2025.

Nominations are open until March 31, 2025.

Why Nominate?

At ABQ Mom, we’re passionate about empowering and supporting moms, especially those who could use some extra help. While we wish we could support all of the nonprofits doing amazing work for moms in our city, selecting a single nonprofit allows us to focus our efforts and support to make a significant and lasting impact for a single nonprofit.

How ABQ Mom Helps the Nominated Nonprofit

Over the next year, ABQ Mom will work closely with the nonprofit to produce a media marketing package to promote the nonprofit. We will also support the nonprofit via donation drives, volunteer recruitment, or whatever type of work suits their needs best.

Past ABQ Mom Nonprofit Spotlight Recipients

The nonprofit selected for 2025 will be the third ABQ Mom nonprofit spotlight.

In 2023, ABQ Mom teamed up with the New Mexico Dream Center to furnish a room for the Eliza Jane Project. We created a beautiful room for a mom and her children in this 8-bedroom, 24/7 fully-staffed residential housing facility for human trafficking survivors in New Mexico.

In 2024, we supported Getting Ahead, a 16-session workshop for families and students in APS Title-1 schools who wish to improve their economic stability. ABQ Mom promoted their silent auction and bling show fundraisers and helped collect gift cards to encourage families to participate in the workshops.

What Our Contributors Have to Say

Olivia Mead shares her experience meeting the New Mexico Dream Center team after moving to Albuquerque:

“When I first landed in Albuquerque, I had no idea what the local nonprofit scene looked like. Thanks to ABQ Mom, I quickly discovered the incredible work happening right here in New Mexico by being invited to a fundraising breakfast for the NM Dream Center. I went in knowing nothing about their mission or impact, but by the time I left, I was blown away. The room was packed with supporters. The speakers were dynamic. The stories and testimonials hit deep. I couldn’t wait to donate.

That moment made me proud to call Albuquerque home, even after only a few months of living here.

The work of nonprofits is extremely challenging, and they rely on strong community awareness and contributions to be successful. ABQ Mom is one of the best resources at bridging that gap between community and local organizations of service.”

I’ve been running a nonprofit for 10 years. I can’t overstate what it would mean for our mission to have a resource like ABQ Mom sharing our work. Getting in front of the most powerful movers and shakers out there—mamas—would be a game-changer.

No matter how long an organization has been around or how many lives it has impacted, there are always people who need its resources but don’t know they exist. ABQ Mom has the power to connect the right people to the right organizations. Maybe even one that could help you or someone you love.”

Elizabeth Janiors shares her experience engaging with the SHINE partnership:

“I heard about the SHINE Partnership through a friend who plays a major role in it and then through ABQ Mom’s work with them to spread awareness. Because of this program, many students are being encouraged, supported, and building relationships with others.

Because of it, they will be better equipped to reach all their goals. That makes me so happy.”
