Everybody agrees that there are so many fun ways to experience tea: hot tea, iced tea, bubble tea, themed service. I hope this list inspires you to try something new or revisit an old favorite.
East Side
Fragrant Leaf Tea Boutique
Offering monthly afternoon tea service, you can choose to dine in or carry out. Make your reservations in advance for one of the two seatings offered. You can also purchase a variety of loose leaf teas.
House of Salem “Salem’s Tea House”
Located in Old Town, House of Salem hosts monthly ‘creativi-tea’ events (adults only) where you can sip tea as you socialize and collage. They sell tea as well as local honey, and they are regulars at the Railyards Market, Downtown Growers’ Market, and The Albuquerque Artwalk.
Ivy Tea Room
This cozy and glamorous tea house can accommodate walk-ins (based upon availability), reservations for tea service (including ‘tipsy tea’), and large parties. Their menu changes monthly, and they also offer fun themed services. Come dressed up or casual.
Lala Coffee & Tea
Sit and stay a while as you relax with your hot or cold drink. Lala offers milk teas and boba, as well as sweet and savory food.
Los Poblanos – Tea at La Quinta
Los Poblanos is one of my favorite locations, and we frequently go to Campo to celebrate special occasions. This beautiful and historic property also features afternoon tea on select Sundays. Reservations are required, and you will also have access to the exclusive Library Bar after service.
Lost Cultures Tea Bar
Health and community focused, Lost Cultures has tea, kombucha, and non-alcoholic beverages. They host weekly events and can host your private party with advanced notice.
Marketplace Coffee & Tea
This cozy café doubles as a home décor shop where you can either sit and enjoy your drink or peruse the aisles. The loose-leaf teas are hand blended in house, and you can order them hot or iced.
Moons Coffee & Tea
A mother and daughter owned shop, Moons has over 100 teas and blends to choose from.
Munch ‘N Boba
In addition to serving brewed teas, Munch ‘N Boba also has boba, blended boba, and milk tea. Pair it with a waffle customized to your liking, sweet or savory.
Old Barrel Tea Company
A woman-owned company, they have multiple locations in NM, as well as in AZ and CO. Their blends are inspired by the Southwest and blended in Albuquerque. You can experience their loose leaf blends in one of their shops, and they also carry spices, syrups, and oils.
Phamily Tea House
As the name suggests, this is a family-owned tea house serving a variety of teas, as well as Asian inspired dishes. The prices are affordable, and they don’t skimp on quality.
Snapdragon Tea
There are no reservations needed to enjoy some fun, casual tea and snacks at this inclusive tea house. They offer themed three-course tea parties where reservations are required. They also offer catering and can host your private party of up to 24 people.

St James Tea Room
For over 25 years, the St James Tea Room has been providing New Mexicans with a three-course British-style tea service in semi-private settings. The staff is knowledgeable and welcoming, and this was such a fun girls’ day to spend with my mom and kids to celebrate their birthday. You’re sent home with a sachet of one of the teas, and you can buy more in their market shop.
Starry Moon
This bubble tea shop has two locations and offers mix-ins to customize your drink.
Sweet Cup Desserts Boba
Maybe one of the sweetest places to check out, they have make-your-own boba tea as well as gelato, macarons, and other house-made desserts. You can also order classic flavors, hot or iced, to enjoy with a sweet treat.
Taste Tea
This shop offers a variety of milk teas, tangy fruit teas, and smoothies.
Tea Time
Come for the cozy atmosphere and beautiful drinks, stay for the new croffles—a mix of a croissant and a waffle. Fairly new to Albuquerque (2024), it is quickly becoming a local favorite.
Windmill Tea House
A variety of drinks are offered here: from boba tea, to milk tea, to sparkling soda, and classic brewed teas. You can customize the sweetness level of your drink to your liking and add toppings or the handmade fruit jellies.
Yes Boba
Open every day from 11-7, you can order traditional Taiwanese bubble tea or other specialty drinks. If you’re not in the mood for tea, try one of the customizable boba sundaes.
West Side
Boba Lounge
This shop offers fun flavors and has something for everyone to enjoy. They have seasonal drinks, fun creations (So Fetch, anyone?!), and specials that you don’t want to miss.
Boba Splash
Locally owned, Boba Splash offers mostly boba, but they do have a few hot teas you can order as well. They also have a few food options, including bubble waffles.
Corrales Teas & Chocolates Tea Room
Stop into this quaint tea shop for their tea service or their delicious truffles. Reservations are required for tea service, and they can accommodate a group up to 28. While you’re there, grab some chocolates for yourself or to gift to a special someone.
Kawaii Boba-Café
Kawaii is Japanese for cute, and that’s exactly what this café is. This unique spot serves boba tea as well as ramen, rice bowls, and appetizers.
Ma’s Tea House
There are two westside locations, and tons of boba tea on the menu. They also have items like milk tea popsicles, acai bowls, and pickle lemonade. Check out their social media for their hilarious ‘spill the tea’ videos.
Na’Teavo
On the upper level in Cottonwood Mall, they offer classic teas and special loose-leaf blends. Don’t forget to snag a macaron to pair with your drink.
Pirate Tea
Arrr you looking for a fun, casual tea experience? This might be what you’re looking for if you love a pirate-themed atmosphere. They offer classic teas, milk teas, and special teas, all with fun names.
Tea Lab
This tea shop offers fruit tea, milk tea, matcha, and brewed teas. They also have croffles, and you can choose from sweet or savory.
