SUMMARY:Rodeo de Santa Fe
DESCRIPTION:Big time rodeo\, small town feeling. \nThe Rodeo de Santa Fe began in 1949 when Roy Butler\, Austin “Slim” Green\, Gene Petchesky\, Paul Ragle\, Paul Rutledge and few others had a dream and determination to organize a professional rodeo in Santa Fe\, NM. This dream exceeded their ambitious expectations and today remains one of the top 60 PRCA Rodeos in the nation. Last year’s Rodeo de Santa Fe drew nearly 500 contestants\, including many World Champion Cowboys and Cowgirls. A roster we can expect to see again this year with more up and coming champions. \n\n\n\n\nRodeo de Santa Fe is fun for the entire family\, with many events for the little ones! The Mutton Bustin’ and youth barrel racers continue to be a crowd favorite of young and old alike! Not to mention the concessions\, vendors and beer and wine available in all seating areas.

SUMMARY:Laughing doesn't need your help: An ensemble performance in the bosque
DESCRIPTION:Staged in and around the Rio Grande River\, “Laughing doesn’t need your help” a new ensemble performance manifesting our inevitable movement toward each other\, tenderness\, and meaning. Amid the present moment of climate catastrophe\, rapidly escalating administrative violence\, and widespread anxiety\, a cast of performers are born from a murky collective unconscious into their own looping\, improvised movement cycles that lead\, perhaps inexplicably\, back into joyful\, muddy communion. \nInspired by literary references including Kaveh Akbar’s acclaimed Martyr! and Toni Morrison’s canonical Beloved一as well as ongoing conversations with local queer\, melanated\, and allied creatives一this contemporary dance project envisions a cosmic pull toward connection\, even when relief from everyday struggle feels inconceivable.
