Experience the gentle power of Tai Chi and Qigong while connecting with others in a shared moment of global unity on the back patio of the Open Space Visitor Center. \n\nThe demonstration will be led by Master Dug Corpolongo of Sifu Dug’s Internal Martial Arts. \n Sifu Dug Corpolongo began studying Taijiquan\, Xingyi & Bagua in 1979 and has been teaching since 1990. He is a Senior Student of Grandmaster Henry Look. Sifu Dug was inducted into the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2002 and the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Honors in 2012 and in 2022. He retired in 2010 from the National Executive Board of the United States Amateur Athletic Union/Chinese Martial Arts Division after serving for more than 10 years as National Head Coach and National Chair. He currently serves on the United States Kuoshu Federation as a head judge of Internal Martial Arts styles. \nAll are welcome. No experience necessary.

DESCRIPTION:Join the ABQ BioPark Zoo and Chevron for Chevron Community Day\, a full day of family-friendly fun\, special surprises\, and hands-on discovery! \nThe event focuses on reptile conservation\, and the BioPark and Chevron will reveal new features inside the Reptile Building\, including: \n\nA stunning new mural\, created by a local New Mexico artist\nA portrait gallery of reptiles from around the world designed to help you see these important species in a new light\nAn interactive wall for young guests to discover the kinds of places reptiles call home\nA narrative spotlight on the Rio Grande cooter\, a turtle native to New Mexico and a focus of Chevron and the BioPark’s shared conservation work\n\nFrom 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.\, a variety of hands-on activities plus reptile training sessions\, animal care chats\, and educational discovery stations will help guests learn more about these amazing animals and how to protect them. Guests can help the reptiles that live near them by creating a reptile refuge to take home! \nTeachers with their school ID can pick up free educator appreciation gifts and classroom-ready teaching resources from Chevron while supplies last. \n\n\nWe recommended that guests purchase their tickets online in advance. Chevron is generously sponsoring Zoo tickets for New Mexico residents at half price\, while supplies last.
